Christina and I had an incredible time spending a day with Caitlin and Alex in Tacoma. We ate at one of their favorite restaurants, visited their home, walked to a park with Della (their dog), and roamed through parts of Tacoma all on a sunny day. I love the energy, trust, and strength between these two and can't wait to shoot their wedding in August!
It was one of the greatest days in Seattle history. The Seahawks win Super Bowl 48 and the city comes together for a day in celebration. Nearly 700,000 people crowded downtown as the energy that filled the streets was unreal. I almost forgot that I had snapped a few frames of this incredible day. This upcoming Sunday, the Seahawks are back in the Super Bowl looking to RePete. Can you feel the RePete, Seattle? A week from now, we'll hopefully be doing this all over again.
You would think that rain and clouds would put a damper on a wedding. Not this one. What started out as a rainy morning, cleared up for some perfect pacific northwest overcast weather with even some sun breaks. The weather turned out to be so nice that it was an outdoor wedding. I loved it so much because Kenny & Ann deserved the best wedding. I have known Kenny and Ann for a few years and they are some of the most giving and helpful people I know. It was clear that these two humans were madly in love and cherished every part of their day. I was honored to be a part of it! It was just perfect.

I love coffee. The taste, the culture, the caffeine. Coffee Monster is a big deal. Located in Coquitlam (BC), it's a small cafe that has a nice charm to it. They have rad merch, tasty pastries & desserts, cold brew (concentrated for 16 hours.. yes 16 hours), and really good coffee! Coffee Monster will basically be on my list of places to visit every time I am in Vancouver.
There's something about the fall that gets me excited. The leaves change colors, weddings slow down, family sessions pick up, and for us in the pacific northwest, it is basically gets really beautiful. It is clearly different from the rest of the seasons. Meet Frank, Mari, and they're dog Abbey. They are a fun and incredible bunch and I had an absolute blast shooting them. I was especially honored when they asked me to take pictures to announce the newest addition to their family next April. Biggest congrats to Frank & Mari!
Eunice and Dennis’ wedding took place in beautiful downtown San Francisco. With the perfect San Francisco overcast weather, preparations started at Hotel Vitale and we were able to take portraits at a few of the iconic locations in downtown such as Bay Bridge, Ferry Building, and the Palace of Fine Arts. When we arrived at Foreign Cinema, I quickly noticed that this wedding had incredible details. Eunice and Dennis love traveling and are big foodies. These two passions really showed in the details of the wedding. The guests picked up their name tags in shapes of airplanes, clouds, trollies, city skyline, and hot air balloons. With about 6 different types of cake to choose from, it was probably one of the most impressive, memorable, and celebratory parts! All the details, the whole day, it all just worked out perfect.
I love and appreciate artists who: are learners, are committed to the hustle, and do what they love. This is my guy, Joe Bae. As a stylist, Joe's approach to hair and service is top notch. Here are a few frames of Joe in his element doing my wife's hair. He's cuts out of Obadiah Salon in downtown Bellevue. Go pay him a visit.
First time I met Kelly & Jake, we were grilling our dinners on the roof of our apartment building next to each other. One of my friends overheard them talking about how they're looking for a wedding photographer and the rest is pretty much history. From our first conversation, I knew that Jake & Kelly are great people that definitely love each other. They also have great taste in apartment buildings too :] It's awesome to know that this beautiful couple are our neighbors. I had the shortest commute to this shoot because we met in our lobby downstairs. I can't wait to cover their wedding next year!
Sometimes, the best captures come from non-produced times of being with those you love. I was spending time with my brother's family at his house when I noticed awesome lighting outside and we ended up doing a 5 minute family portrait session. Oh yeah, and my nephew is basically the one of my favorite people in life next to Jesus and my wife.
To celebrate the upcoming birth of a child is incredible. Yong and Helan are a beautiful couple and I have had the honor of knowing them for several years. They are loads of fun and really care for those around them. Yong and Helan will be incredible parents together for Kasen!
This post is dedicated to a beautiful family with an amazing story of unconditional love and commitment. Each person's unique personality, the family dynamics are fun and filled with a lot of energy. The bonds are deep as Lizz and Kory lead a beautiful family together!
The more I take pictures, the more I appreciate black and white images. They are timeless and honest. Here are a few black and white photos from an engagement session I recently did. Haeri and Minki are a really sweet, kind and friendly couple. Looking forward to covering their wedding in September!
Power couple. It's what I think of when I think of Ann and Kenny. These two are amazing individuals and together, they make a dynamic pair. One of my favorite things about them is that they are constantly giving their time and energy to love others. They live with a sense of purpose and are really pleasant to be around. I am really thankful that I can call these two friends and consider it an honor to be able to take pictures on their big day this upcoming October.
It was my first time hanging out with Karen & Philip and I had an absolute blast with them! This couple shares a deep and fun-loving connection. Every time I asked them to look at each other, they would burst out laughing. We shared tons of laughs and fun times together. This is a special couple and i'm thankful that I can now call them friends! You'll be seeing more of Karen and Philip because their wedding is right around the corner in July!
The first wedding of 2014 is in the books and it's been a strong start to the wedding season! Chelsea and Jeff know how to throw a party! The vibe of the whole day reflected the love & energy they have toward one another. It was an incredible joy and pleasure sharing the day with them!
It's the feeling you get when you meet a couple and it seems like you've known them for a long time. Fun, relaxed, and lots of good energy. It was like that with Eunice and Dennis. We spent a day exploring and taking pictures around SF and I had an absolute blast.
a beautiful couple in a beautiful city.
The more I get to meet new friends in different places and provide photos for them, the more the love for my craft wants to explode. Looking forward to what 2014 has in store!
Meet the Park family. Mason is a little over 6 months old and Chris and Laura's first kid. When they reached out to me to do a shoot for Mason and the family, I was immediately excited about it. I first met Chris several years ago through friends and we connected because he comes from the sweet land of Canada (where my wife is from). I later met Laura and loved her energy and kindness. These are two solid people and I appreciate the strong culture of love they build in their family for Mason. It is a great example for younger couples and I am thankful to call them friends.
